A small parts ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves, not ionizing radiation, to image the thyroid, parathyroid, scrotum and testicles, breast, salivary glands and lymph nodes. It is painless, requires no injection and is safe to repeat as often as your provider needs. The study is commonly used to evaluate:

Who needs this exam in Fresno County

Providers across Fresno County order this study for patients presenting with a palpable lump in the neck, abnormal thyroid labs, scrotal pain or swelling, or a lymph node that has not resolved. How to prepare

No preparation required. Nothing to fast for and nothing to drink beforehand. All we need on arrival is a bed or couch in a quiet room with space to set up beside you.
